WVU’s E. Gordon Gee Inspires ALMBS Citizens

Dr. E. Gordon Gee is one of America’s most prominent higher education leaders, having helmed universities for more than three decades. In 2009, Time magazine named him one of the top 10 university presidents in the United States. Recently, the website Great Value Colleges named him the nation’s top university president.

In 2014, Gee returned to West Virginia University, where his career as a university president began. His leadership goals include putting students first, advancing the university’s research agenda, partnering with West Virginia communities and making sure that 1.8 million West Virginians know in their hearts and minds that West Virginia University is their university.

Born in Vernal, Utah, Gee graduated from the University of Utah with an honors degree in history and earned his J.D. and Ed.D. degrees from Columbia University. He clerked under Chief Justice David T. Lewis of the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals before being named a

Edward Jones Talks Good Financial Stewardship

Evan Kliethermes has been a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones since 2012. He began his career with a position our of St. Louis, MO at the Edward Jones Headquarters. Evan is originally from Missouri and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University, MO. He moved to Fairmont, WV to embark on his career as a Financial Advisor and has his office there today. He is also a Level Leader for his region. Prior to his career with Edward Jones, Evan grew up on a farm in Missouri and helped grow the family business. He also worked in the plumbing field for 6 years. Today, Evan also continues his original interest in farming here in West Virginia.

WV Attorney General Addresses ALMBS

Patrick Morrisey was elected as the Attorney General for the State of West Virginia on November 6, 2012, and reelected to a second term Nov. 8, 2016. He was initially sworn into office on January 14, 2013.

Patrick Morrisey is the first Republican to serve as Attorney General in West Virginia since 1933, and as a resident of Harpers Ferry, Morrisey is also the first Attorney General from Jefferson County in our state’s history.

Since becoming Attorney General, Morrisey has made fighting fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption a top priority of the Office. Shortly after taking office, he instituted a new policy for hiring outside counsel that has dramatically increased transparency and saved the state more than $4 million. He has also returned more than $39 million in monies to the state and has brought in many millions more to state agency clients and consumers.
