DEADLINE: College Credit Application

To enhance your Boys State Leadership Academy experience, West Virginia University has partnered with the
American Legion Mountaineer Boys State to offer you an exciting opportunity. By being selected and attending
Boys State, you are eligible to enroll in a course designed specifically with you in mind. By enrolling in Leadership
In Action before attending ALMBS, you will be exposed to the theory and application of leadership. This course
is designed to help you develop a better understanding of your role as a community leader and start your journey
in to higher education. This course will be considered an elective credit at WVU. WVU holds regional and many
specialized accreditations. Thus, credits can transfer to a majority of colleges and universities nationwide. The cost
for this opportunity is $150.00 and is payable directly to West Virginia University.

SRVL 293 is designed as an introduction to community-based leadership. The purpose of this course is to provide

2015 ALMBS Applications still being accepted – limited slots available!

The American Legion Mountaineer Boys State is a week long program focused on government, leadership, and citizenship. The program is open to any male, junior who lives or attends high school in the State of West Virginia. Complete the Application form on and work with your High School Guidance Counselor or local American Legion Post to get registered. Limited slots are available, so ACT NOW!

Eligibility requirements:
**Male, junior who lives or attends High School in WV
**2.75 or higher GPA
**Involved in leadership and/or civic activities

76th ALMBS Recruitment Begins

Help us recruit the next graduating class from American Legion Mountaineer Boys State. Information on the 76th program has been sent out to all WV high schools and American Legion Posts. Tell your friends about your experience and encourage them to attend. This year the program will be held June 9-15. And remember you are always welcome back to campus for the Formal Review and evening assembly on Wednesday at 6:00pm. It’s a great time for a reunion with your fellow citizens.
